Verse of the day: “Learn to do good. Seek justice. Help the oppressed. Defend the cause of orphans. Fight for the rights of widows.” (Isaiah 1:17, NLT)

Verse of the day: “Learn to do good. Seek justice. Help the oppressed. Defend the cause of orphans. Fight for the rights of widows.” (Isaiah 1:17, NLT)

Verse of the day: “Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.” (John 15:2, ESV).
Do you ever get frustrated, because even though you’re trying to live the way God wants you to, nothing seems to be working out? I certainly have. But I think this is God’s answer to the WHY question. So, don’t freak out. Ask God what he’s trying to teach you or change in you, and keep going. 😊

Verse of the day: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.” (Proverbs 9:10, ESV)

Verse of the day: “Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians 9:7, ESV)

Verse of the day: “The sluggard says, ‘There is a lion in the road! There is a lion in the streets!’” (Proverbs 26:13, ESV)
This verse is God telling me, get off your rear and get to work. Don’t spend all your time worrying about what might go wrong, about what dangers lurk. Just go for it and try something!

Verse of the day: “He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.” (Psalm 23:3, ESV)
This psalm is so famous, but it’s also easy to not give it the proper attention, since it’s so familiar. As I was working on today’s picture, it occurred to me that this could be taken to mean that I’ve screwed up, but God restores my soul, and leads me back to paths of righteousness. Something to think about.

Verse of the day: “And when they had prayed, they place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.” (Acts 4:31, ESV)
Yes, I think this is talking about the building. But I think it goes deeper. I think their hearts were shaken. And I think the whole world was shaken.
Start with prayer, and be ready to get shook, and to shake the world.

Verse of the day: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:8, ESV)

Verse of the day: “How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?” (Romans 10:14, ESV)

Today’s daily verse: “The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe.” (Proverbs 29:25, ESV)
Today’s picture was fun to create, and it’s getting closer to what I want from my art. I’ve used a couple sources to generate the images, then experiment with masking to make it look more unique. Today I tried to get both Gemini and ChatGPT to generate an image that was a reflection of today’s verse, and this was the best that ChatGPT came up with. But look at the tree! I changed the fill of the leafy part and the trunk to something unique, using stock images from MS PowerPoint. This is an idea that I stole from someone quite a while ago; she used this technique to create unique children’s book art. (I can’t remember if it was an online course or YouTube; my apologies to the creator.) To finally use it in my own creation is pretty exciting!
And by the way, the message of today’s verse is spot on. I think so many of us deal with the fear of what other people think, and it holds us back from trying something new and unique. I know I do, and it’s a constant battle. Here’s to another day’s victorious battle!
